Authority & Responsibility

We are NCI-Family. We function and exist as a family. We are family in the Kingdom of YHWH. We all have the same Father. We all have the same Head and soon coming King, Yeshua. The Elders all serve as older Brothers and Sisters who are subject to the Lord and one another. We are responsible for and to one another. The Greco-Roman Pyramid-Paradigm (GRPP) has come among us, pitting us above and below one another, causing many to usurp authority and control. This is not the divine design, but a deception from Satan’s own heart. Because of it’s success as a business model, it is deeply rooted and one of the most difficult to undo and overcome. Please, take no offense as you read and pray over this section, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you into His perfect way.

We acknowledge that all “true” authority comes from God as expressed through various leadership roles, responsibilities, callings, and giftings. We honor all of the leadership ministries: apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral, teaching, governing, motivational, inspirational, and administrative. New Covenant Israel views humility and submission as essential qualities—as well as the most powerful leadership attributes a person can possess. The New Covenant, promised in Jeremiah 31:31, offered the same relationship with YHWH, but it was offered to individuals, instead of the nation. Therefore each individual, who is called and accepts the New Covenant, becomes a Holy Kingdom Priest.

The Greco-Roman Pyramid Paradigm—GRPP

A traditional GRPP lie is the phony separation of a professional clergy from the laity. Today, many call themselves Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers—and some still dare to call themselves rabbi-an, the Aramaic term for “Master.” The majority of these are clamoring for the authority and financial support they believe should accompany the title or position. They are steeped and trained in the Greco-Roman art of war and management where the one on the top of the pyramid is in control and has the power!

Along with that GRPP comes the arrogance and pride that requires all “underlings” to submit to their “authority” and support them in the advancement of “their kingdoms.” Anyone who challenges the “leader at the top” of the GRPP is considered to be rebellious and is sometimes threatened with spankings or, in extreme cases, banishment and possible excommunication (Roman-Catholic term). How dare we, indeed?! Unfortunately, this is not the New Covenant structure, nor is it “backed up” by Yeshua or His Apostles.

This malignant teaching even poses as a “spiritual covering” claiming to be divine in nature and for your spiritual benefit. When anyone demands that someone, “Come under my authority!” or says, “You must submit to my authority,” they need to realize they are still laboring under the GRPP. Many are wonderful people who often have good intentions to try and help you. This is one of the single most difficult Pyramid Paradigms to overcome, both in the Leaders and in those who think of themselves as “just the sheep!” Whereas true New Covenant believers are looking to submit to each other as well as to those who are genuine Spiritual leaders. It is an automatic spiritual process that is voluntary. If people are not led to submit to you, it is for a reason. The GRPP is designed for the control and manipulation of the general population. We are called to be Kingdom Priests, not the general population.

These Greco-Roman deceptions are so embedded in every facet of our thinking! Both Judaism and Christianity completely abandoned Biblical paradigms. The reason our NCI logo is an inverted pyramid pointing downward is to draw attention to the fact that leadership in New Covenant Israel is expressed through responsibility instead of authority, submission rather than dominion. Yeshua taught us that the Goyim use this GRPP to control their servants, but that we should not! “Let him that would be great, … be the servant of all” (Mark 10:44). Then we are taught that Yeshua is the chief cornerstone (very bottom of the foundation) and upon a foundation of the apostles and prophets, He would build His Family-Church (Eph. 2:20). All New Covenant examples of leadership are SUPPORTIVE to brothers and not AUTHORITATIVE. WHY!? We have been given Spiritual Authority (exousia) over all the power (dunamas) of Satan and his works! (Luke 10:19) Not each other! We are not called to rule over each other, for we have one head, Yeshua, and one King, Yeshua! Even when we are called to correct or rebuke as leaders, it is mandated that we do it in a spirit of gentleness and humility, “least it be turned back on us.” (Gal. 6:1?) “Pride comes before a fall and a haughty spirit before sudden destruction” (Prov. 16:18). Submitting yourselves one to another (Ephesians 5:21). By this shall all men know you are my disciples, the way you have love one to another (John 13:34 &35)

Another GRPP lie promotes the building of coliseums or auditoriums. While such facilities can be utilized for events and for evangelism, they are, by nature, designed for entertainment not the Body Ministry described and practiced by the New Covenant church of the first century.

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Yeshua: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Yeshua: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine … (Eph. 4: 11–14)

Now if you will, reread the above scriptures with the “filter of responsibility,” as if it is the calling and job of each member of this five-fold ministry to bring each believer into all the conditions of a perfect man.

We see the ministries of man (as called out in 1 Cor. 12:27 and Eph. 4:11) as supportive, edifying, and uplifting to serve the Body and Bride of Yeshua. We see these callings as tools of YHWH to help prepare His Son’s Bride for her role in the Kingdom of YHWH here and now, as well as in the future Messianic Kingdom.

There are very few who will stand and say, “Follow me as I follow Yeshua and I will help perfect you, meet your spiritual needs, edify, and build you up until you are walking in the unity of the faith and become the perfected, mature saint who cannot be tricked or deceived by false prophets or false doctrines” (1 Cor. 11:1)

New Covenant Israel is called to inspire, not control; enable, not bridle; and empower, not manipulate. It is our desire to restore fellowship based on sacrificial love, not domination. We believe that all men are on their own unique, God-appointed journey; that understanding and revelation for each man and woman varies, just as experiences and relationships on his or her specific path do. We see life as a process of refining and learning. We also know that revelation comes from YHWH alone at His chosen times.

The Apostles are to establish the doctrines and give general direction to the Body. The Prophets are to be able to Hear from YHWH, Speak for YHWH, and See the events coming upon the Body and the world. The Evangelists are unique in that they are starters, like Missionaries who are to build and start new churches, all types of evangelism and networking. Pastors and Teachers are to feed, groom, nurture, empower, enable, and mature the Body while giving daily direction. NCI will have an Apostolic/Prophetic counsel to guide us on this journey.
